Meet our Interim Executive Director Kibirango Sharifah

CERESAV is pleased to welcome our Interim Executive Director Sharifah Kibirango. Sharifah has been the amazing person behind our recently concluded “16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence, 16 Different Faces of Violence of Violence” Campaign which was a success. She has been a volunteering Programs Manager at CERESAV since January 2024 and has spent the past 11 months supporting Board efforts to restructure and streamline systems for organizational growth.

Sharifah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from the Islamic University in Uganda, and is also a certified trainer in Cyber Security from the Collaboration on International ICT policy for Eastern and Southern Africa (CIPESA). Sharifah is an Active Citizen from Uganda who has spent most of her career representing women and youth voices on different platforms both locally and internationally. Because of her passion for women and youth,

Sharifah has taken up different training spaces in Active citizenship and feminism in Uganda. Sharifah has worked at national level implementing projects on Governance, Livelihood and Employment, HIV/AIDs, Gender, Sexual Reproductive Health, Entrepreneurship, and Environmental Conservation. Sharifah is a member of the Network for Active Citizen, Girls not Bride Uganda, and Coalition for Action on 1325. Sharifah is proudly married with two children (boy and girl) and is currently on her journey to explore more opportunities for advancing her skills in the Gender Based Violence Sector, Governance and Policy Development, Civil Society Leadership, and Women and Youth Empowerment.

Sharifah has been volunteering as the CERESAV Programs Manager since January 2024. She has been actively supporting Board efforts to restructure and streamline systems to support organizational growth.

Sharifah says that "as an active Citizen, I am locally engaged and globally connected. I uses a paradigm shift approach in tackling gender issues and community development projects that address actual needs of people. This is the most effective way we can achieve agenda 2030 and SDGs".
