As the Executive Director of the Centre for Rehabilitation of Survivors of Acid and Burns Violence (CERESAV), Sharifah leads initiatives to support and advocate for the rights and well-being of acid attack and burn survivors in Uganda. With over 7 years of experience in community development, Sharifah has worked extensively in youth advocacy, strategic policy planning, and gender and health rights. Her contributions include aiding the development of the East African Youth Policy, reviewing the National Adolescent Health Policy, and contributing to the Uganda National Youth Manifesto 2016. At CERESAV, she drives public education, support systems for survivors, and push for legislative changes to address and prevent acid violence, aiming to build a safer and more supportive environment for survivors.
