Medical Supply Donations

Most of the survivors that CERESAV serves receive initial treatment in the burns unit of Mulago Hospital in Kampala.  The hospital is very under-supplied and many survivors’ conditions worsen due to lack of simple things like fresh gauze to change bandages and prevent infection.  CERESAV utilizes its international network of support to collect supplies.  These supplies are then distributed to survivors during CERESAV’s counselors’ weekly hospital visits.

The burns unit is in dire need of the following:

• Bulky absorbent dressings
• Silver-based wound dressings
• Silicon-based scar dressings
• Pressure garments
• Elastic/crepe bandages
• Pain control medications
• Nutritional supplements, oral or IV
• Vitamin E cream
• Raw shea butter
• Raw coconut butter
